PCL Direct was presented with the Print IT Awards winners' trophy for EOS Manufacturer of the Year, at a glittering annual Awards Ceremony in London this week.

PCL Direct specialises in the remanufacture of mono and colour toner cartridges, drums, developers, fuser units and transfer belt units, for laser engines. Under the Eco Direct brand, the company recycles and refurbishes discontinued and used Konica Minolta printers and MFPs, rebranding them as Eco Direct, and offering them to dealers as an alternative, cost-effective and sustainable range to supply to their customers.
In 2023 there were 231 SKUs listed in the PCL Direct price list. This year that number has increased to 333 SKUs with additional Ricoh parts and new Canon products being adding to the range, earlier in the year, enabling the channel to offer more flexibility to their customers.

PCL Direct’s R&D and quality control ensure reliability and consistency across the range. All products undergo rigorous multiple checks and live testing. Microchips, toner, and component parts are batch tested and every toner product is monitored throughout the remanufacturing process. All raw materials, received, are recorded and batch tested. PCL Direct only uses OEM original products, which are professionally cleaned to guarantee the very best quality, and specially sourced chemical toner of the highest grade, assuring long-life and peak performance. To further develop the testing and QC the operation is expanding into a much larger temperature-controlled facility within their 15,000 ft2 production and technical facility in Nuneaton, to evolve, develop and improve current and future products.
The channel benefits from a 12-month warranty scheme, accessible through an on-line portal on PCL Direct’s website. The warranty is based on OEMs’ warranty models and guarantees the same or better performance. A comprehensive 'build and test' procedure ensures full traceability and verification, in the event of warranty claims. Based on the number of products produced and shipped, between September 2023 and July 2024, PCL Direct recorded a warranty return/failure rate is just 0.274%.
The company is dedicated to sustainability which has earned them full accredited membership to ETIRA, the European Toner and Inkjet Remanufacturers Association. Being accepted, with full accreditation, demonstrates that PCL Direct is 100% authentic and ethical. Since joining they have been granted eligibility for their remanufactured toner products to carry the coveted ETIRA certified label.
As part of our sustainable initiatives, PCL Direct operates a channel waste collection service, to gather used machines and OEM consumables for use in our remanufacturing process. A Waste Transfer Certificate guarantees the material has been handled according to WEEE regulations and to confirm zero landfill.
This year, PCL Direct has further enhanced its capabilities in toner output and also implemented an improved flexibility in working with multiple brands of toner by adding three high-capacity filling machines to the remanufacturing process. One is dedicated to filling black only and two are designed to fill directly from the 10kg bulk bags, of CMYK products, with little or no down time required for cleaning. This takes their filling capability up to 8 machines and improves filling capacity by 45%. PCL Direct has continued their extensive R&D activities creating new technical hybrid OEM/Aftermarket products that are a one-of-a-kind solution in the marketplace.
